In this beginner leatherworking workshop, you will complete your own leather belt and come away with basic knowledge of the age old craft of leatherwork and belt making. You’ll learn the basics of cutting and dyeing leather before you measure, cut, and dye your leather strap. You will stamp a simple design, personalizing it with alphabet or image stamps. And finally, you will add a leather finish and attach hardware to complete the belt project.  You will even be able to wear your crafted leather belt out of class!

PLEASE NOTE: if your waist measures more than 50 inches, PLEASE EMAIL US so that we can make sure to provide the correct sized hide for you.

Supplies Needed: None, but students are encouraged to wear clothes they can get grungy since we’ll be working with dyes.
