In this class, we will introduce you to the beautiful art of natural bundle dyeing! Gain an understanding of how to work with the many vibrant colors that can be extracted from natural materials such as fresh and dried flowers, food waste, trees, plants, and more! You’ll have a chance to explore and practice the bundle dyeing process on silk. Each student will learn how to place the dyestuffs, wrap the fabric, and steam the bundle on a stove top to create their own unique, colorful patterns. Curious how a certain plant or flower may look when bundle dyed? Bring it in and try it!! Each student will leave with their own batch of beautiful bundle dyed items, including fabric samples, one silk throw pillowcase (14″), one medium silk scarf (6″ x 24″), and one large silk scarf / bandana (21.5″ x 21.5″).

Supplies Needed: None. All fabric, plants, and other necessary materials will be provided. You are welcome (and encouraged) to bring in your own plants to try dyeing with, but it is not required.
