Beginner’s Leatherworking: Craft and Dye Your Own Leather Wallet
Monday, February 20th @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm$62
In Beginner’s Leatherworking: Craft and Dye Your Own Leather Wallet, you will learn and apply leatherworking techniques to cut, dye, and assemble your own wallet from vegetable tanned leather! We will teach you to follow a simple wallet pattern, then demonstrate how to mix dye to arrive at the color or stain you desire and apply it to your leather. You will learn to hand stitch the leather pieces for assembly and apply hardware. We will also discuss the benefits of using vegetable tanned leather, as well as how to take care of your new wallet! You will leave class with one wallet and a working knowledge of the tools and techniques necessary to create more wallets at home!
Supplies Needed: None, but please do not wear your Sunday best since you’ll be using dye in this class.
Instructor Bio: Becca Schillinger earned her BFA in drawing and painting from CCAC here in San Francisco, and was trained by drag queens in NYC on how to paint a fashion-week worthy face.
