How would you like to sew one of these amazing geometric pillows? In this beginner-friendly class, you will learn the basics of using a sewing machine (no prior sewing experience required!) and we’ll walk you through how to design, cut, and sew a pillowcase! Choose from an array of fabrics to customize your design. Each pillow measures 18″ x 18″, and includes a polished looking fold over backing, so no difficult zippers or buttons are required. You will leave with one square, geometric pillow. This is a stand alone class, so feel free to take our Sewing Bootcamp or other sewing classes afterwards to continue honing your craft!
Some specific skills learned in this class include:
– Learning basic sewing machine settings and usage
– Industry standards for stitch lengths (garments vs. home goods)
– Following an existing pattern and measuring for your own
– AND…you’ll even dip your toe into a little quilting while you’re at it!
Supplies Needed: None. We supply all fabric, pillow inserts, and the machines. You will be using a simple Janome 2212, which is great for learning and skills can easily transfer to other machines. Please don’t bring your own machine.
