Class Description Punch Needle

Punch needle is a fiber craft dating back to the 1880’s, but is experiencing a big resurgence in popularity with more modern motifs and applications. Existing somewhere between rug hooking and embroidery, punch needle involves punching a needle through fabric in a repetitive motion to create amazing designs with loops of yarn. It’s a fun and relaxing craft that can be turned into wall art, cushions, pillows, rugs, patches, purses… just about anything made with a textile! And with a great set of tools, even first timers will walk away with the confidence to continue and experiment on their own!

Supplies Needed: None. As part of this class, each student will receive a full punch needle kit that includes a reusable punch needle frame, monks cloth, yarn, and an Oxford Punch Needle (the best out there…these are $35 retail) to take home.
