Macrame Project: Macrame Plant Hanger (ONLINE CLASS) $25-$58

If you’re finding yourself amassing new plants at a rate such that your apartment now doubles as the neighborhood botanical garden, then you know that making room for your flourishing flora collection can be a problem. Enter: MACRAME! This classic, versatile form of fiber art allows you to create magical plant hangers that make excellent use of your vertical space while beautifully showing off each of your beloved green pals! In this online class, learn the many foundational knots used in macramé (square knot, gathering knot, spiral, and more...) as you create your own macramé plant hanger. You will learn to use a decorative, 3" wooden ring as the support, a handful of wooden beads for embellishment, and even Rit Dye to give your cotton cord a cool visual effect! Each student will work on one mid-sized plant hanger, measuring approximately 36" in height, and large enough to hold a 4-6" plant.

Supplies Needed: For this class, you will need one of the WorkshopSF Macramé Plant Hanger Kits, which includes supplies (macramé cord, wooden rings, beads, and dye) to complete two macramé plant hanger projects. One of these kits is included in the price of the first ticket option. IF you don't want the class kit and just want to watch all the fun and excitement, you may select the ONLINE CLASS ONLY ticket option.

Instructor Bio: Hailing originally from Chile, but having called the Bay Area her home for the past several years, Jocelyne Alcantara has been a DIY dazzle show and welcome addition to WorkshopSF since 2017. You may have met her working our DIY booths at Bay Area festivals, street fairs, or art shows, and you most certainly have seen her (or, her hands at least) in one of our many DIY videos on IGTV. Check out her amazing art experiments (and beautiful art and nature photography to boot) on Insta at @diyoice.

How to attend this online class: This class will be taught via Zoom video call. You may download Zoom for your desktop or mobile device here. You will also need an internet connection strong enough to stream audio and video. PLEASE NOTE: After you register for this class, you will receive a confirmation email that confirms your spot in class and gives you all Zoom class meeting details and pre-class instructions. If you ordered the class kit, then you will need to give us your shipping address via our Google Form link in this email. PLEASE fill this shipping form out as soon as possible. Class kits will be shipped one week prior to class time, and normally take 1-3 business days to arrive. You will receive a tracking number once your class kit ships.

The rules / important stuff: For our online classes, we have a strict 72-hour cancelation policy for each class, and a NO RETURNS POLICY for the class kit. BUT, the good news is, if you miss your class, you'll still have access to a video recording of that class for up to three months.  Also, if you need to switch into an earlier / later session of your class, please just email us at least three days prior to class time and we will happily get you moved into the desired session.   All classes are still 21+ unless you email for permission. If any questions, please email us at info AT workshopsf DOT org.
