Once you’ve taken Sewing 101, you should be ready to take on our Sewing 102 class! We take the basic alteration techniques you touched on in Sewing 101 and put them to practice. The class begins with a quick refresher and lesson on how to make pockets. You have the option of bringing in your own alterations projects for a little hands-on practice. (Projects include- shortening/ hemming jeans, making skinny jeans from flare or boot cut jeans, taking in a shirt or tee, taking in the waist or hem of a dress or skirt) Please bring 2-3 projects so we can choose the best one. You will leave with the confidence to do alterations that won’t leave your clothing looking like it got tossed on stage during a GWAR concert.
prerequisite: Sewing 101 or equivalent. (and by equivalent, we mean you already know how to use a sewing maching, wind thread around the bobbin, complete simple sewing projects w/ a machine.)
supplies needed: just bring in the simple alteration projects you"d like to work on if you want, though this is not required. scrap fabric is always welcome.
